Reserva Natural dentro del Parque Natural de Urbasa y Andía, regido por el Decreto Foral 228/2007. Es conocido que el acceso está sometido a aforo diario con reserva previa de plaza, pero NO he podido verificarlo en fuente oficial en esta sesión: dato a confirmar antes de publicar.

Restrictions and regulations
Parque Natural (Decreto Foral 228/2007) con red de itinerarios temáticos señalizados y Plan Rector de Uso y Gestión. Presencia intensa de ganado en pastos estivales (aprox. 15 abr–15 dic): perros con correa y respeto a cierres ganaderos. Monumentos naturales protegidos (Tejo de Otsaportillo, Haya de las Limitaciones).
