Parque Natural de Las Ubiñas-La Mesa (35.793 ha, Reserva de la Biosfera desde 2012) con Peña Ubiña (2.417 m) como techo, y los valles del Trubia —Quirós y Teverga— que concentran una de las mayores áreas de escalada deportiva de Asturias.

    Restricciones temporales por nidificación de rapaces rupícolas: la Resolución de 15 de noviembre de 2022 de la Consejería de Medio Rural y Cohesión Territorial (BOPA de 29-11-2022) regula la escalada en áreas críticas de 14 concejos asturianos, con señalización informativa en los sectores afectados. Verificar sector por sector antes de programar.

    jun–oct sin nieve; nov–may como ascensión invernal, es una de las clásicas invernales de la Cordillera Cantábrica.

    Restrictions and regulations

    Parque Natural y Reserva de la Biosfera de Las Ubiñas-La Mesa. Fuera del Parque Nacional, por lo que la normativa aplicable es la asturiana de espacios protegidos y el registro autonómico de turismo activo; la escalada en el concejo está afectada por la regulación de áreas críticas para rapaces rupícolas (Resolución de 15-11-2022, BOPA 29-11-2022).
