Sierra prepirenaica calcárea partida por tres congostos. Es la gran escuela de escalada de invierno de Cataluña (Terradets), el desfiladero más fotografiado del país (Mont-rebei) y la cuna del vuelo libre en Àger. Zona muy sensible por nidificación de quebrantahuesos y águila real.

Restrictions and regulations
Forma parte de la Reserva Natural Parcial de la Noguera Ribagorçana-Mont-rebei (~600 ha), en el límite Cataluña-Aragón, con presencia nidificante de quebrantahuesos, águila real y halcón peregrino. El camino está tallado en la roca, es expuesto y sin barandilla: desaconsejado para niños y personas con vértigo. La escalada en la vertiente aragonesa ha estado prohibida por nidificación de quebrantahuesos.

Restrictions and regulations
Escuela situada en el congost de Terradets, en el mismo macizo del Montsec donde hay restricciones de escalada por nidificación de rapaces. No he podido verificar sectores y fechas exactas vigentes; deben consultarse en la FEEC y en el DOGC antes de programar actividad.

Restrictions and regulations
Zona con nidificación de quebrantahuesos en el Montsec: existen limitaciones a la escalada en sectores del Montsec d'Ares en el término de Àger para favorecer la cría. Hay que verificar cada temporada los sectores y fechas vigentes antes de programar.
