El referente mundial de aprendizaje de windsurf, kitesurf y wingfoil en aguas planas: la laguna de Sotavento. Un litoral de decenas de kilómetros de arena en el Parque Natural de Jandía, con alisio muy constante en primavera y verano y sede histórica de la Copa del Mundo PWA.

    Extremo sur de la isla, con arenal muy amplio y servicios. Múltiples escuelas ofrecen clases y alquiler en varias disciplinas con instructores certificados y en varios idiomas.

    Playa del Matorral incluye el saladar de Jandía, humedal protegido (Sitio de Interés Científico): evitar tránsito e instalaciones fuera de los pasos habilitados.

    What it's like

    Con luna llena y luna nueva la marea forma una laguna de hasta ~4 km de largo y ~200 m de ancho durante varios días: agua plana, poco profunda y arena, el escenario ideal para aprender a navegar y a ceñir. El alisio del NE puede superar los 50 nudos en episodios fuertes, así que el mismo spot sirve para principiantes en la laguna y para expertos fuera de ella. Hay que planificar por calendario de mareas.

    Litoral dentro del Parque Natural de Jandía; los centros operan con concesión/autorización. Conviene verificar el régimen de autorizaciones para actividad comercial en la arena.
