Cañón excavado por el Guadalhorce entre Ardales, Álora, Antequera y Campillos, protegido como paraje natural desde 1989 (2.016 ha), con paredes de más de 400 m y pasos de apenas 10 m de anchura. Alberga el Caminito del Rey y una de las concentraciones de escalada en roca más conocidas de España.

    abierto todo el año salvo 1 de enero, 24-25 y 31 de diciembre, de martes a domingo. Horario de verano (1 abr–24 oct) 10:00–17:00; de invierno (25 oct–27 mar) 10:00–14:00.

    Restrictions and regulations

    Acceso solo con entrada adquirida por anticipado: no se venden en el centro de recepción, únicamente online o en el acceso norte según disponibilidad. Entrada general 10 €, visita guiada oficial 18 € en grupos de hasta 30 personas con guía acreditado (español e inglés); bus lanzadera 2,50 € y aparcamiento 2 € con reserva. Prohibido el acceso a menores de 8 años, con verificación documental de la edad. La gestión y el cobro los ejerce una empresa concesionaria vinculada a Ardales.

    oct–may. En verano el calor del valle del Guadalhorce hace impracticable la mayoría de sectores.

    Restrictions and regulations

    Paraje natural protegido desde 1989. El cañón alberga halcones y águila real en los cortados, lo que en la práctica motiva vetos estacionales de escalada por nidificación; no he podido abrir la resolución concreta con sectores y fechas (ver dudas).
