Franja entre la frontera con Bizkaia y la bahía de Santoña. Reúne el arenal más largo de Cantabria (La Salvé, Laredo, con escuela municipal de windsurf y kitesurf), Berria como polo de escuelas de surf, y el Parque Natural de las Marismas de Santoña, Victoria y Joyel como marco protegido para kayak y snorkel.

    What it's like

    Más de 4.250 m de longitud y unos 120 m de anchura media: la playa más larga de Cantabria, abierta a la bahía de Santoña. Su orientación sur le da un microclima más suave. En otoño e invierno recibe oleaje consistente para surfistas experimentados; en verano las condiciones son suaves e ideales para clases de iniciación. Es uno de los pocos refugios del Cantábrico con temporales de componente oeste, siendo la parte este la más resguardada.

    La existencia de escuela municipal de windsurf y kitesurf implica zonificación de la práctica en un punto concreto de la playa; no se ha localizado el texto de la ordenanza municipal para precisarla.
