What Cañón del Río Lobos is
Parque Natural de 10.176 ha (Decreto 115/1985), tres cuartas partes en Soria y una cuarta en Burgos, con más de 20 km de cañón calizo, una colonia de un centenar de parejas de buitre leonado y un karst muy desarrollado. La escalada está prohibida y la espeleología requiere permiso.

Restrictions and regulations
Todas las actividades del parque están reguladas. Para acceder a algunas zonas en épocas concretas se necesita permiso especial, igual que para ir a caballo; en bicicleta solo por pistas y caminos señalados. Restrictions and regulations
Prohibido escalar del 1 de marzo al 30 de junio. La Delegación Territorial del Servicio de Medio Ambiente de Soria detectó escalada en época de cría de rapaces en el Paraje del Hocino, entre Valdenebro y Boós, y reguló la escuela permitiendo escalar solo del 1 de julio al 29 de febrero, comunicándolo a la FEDME. Montaña Regulada indica que no ha podido verificarlo con fuentes oficiales publicadas.

Restrictions and regulations
La espeleología requiere permiso y algunas grutas están cerradas. La Cueva Grande, junto a la ermita de San Bartolomé, recibe más de 10.000 visitantes al año y presenta daños por hogueras y humedad. Existe además una senda espeleológica interpretativa en Hontoria del Pinar. No hemos verificado el procedimiento exacto de solicitud de permisos.
