Vertiente mediterránea del Estrecho. Es el plan B natural de Tarifa: cuando el levante sopla por encima de 30 nudos y en la costa atlántica se hace ingobernable, Getares y Palmones ofrecen viento side-onshore, más manejable y con barcos de seguridad más cerca.

What it's like
Ensenada amplia al oeste de Algeciras. Funciona normalmente cuando en Tarifa hay levante por encima de 30 nudos, con ola y viento onshore dentro de la bahía. El Rinconcillo, al norte, tiene características similares. No es spot de primera clase: el viento que lo activa es fuerte por definición.
Restrictions and regulations
El kite solo está permitido fuera de temporada; en verano no hay zona habilitada de kitesurf en Getares. Verificar con el Ayuntamiento de Algeciras las fechas exactas de la temporada de baño.

Costa de levante de San Roque y La Línea: hay posibilidades cuando sopla el levante, aunque suele hacerlo con menos intensidad que en el resto de la bahía. Playas urbanas de arena.

What it's like
Spot de agua plana en la bahía de Algeciras. El levante entra side-onshore y con menos intensidad que en Getares y Tarifa, lo que lo hace mucho más manejable para aprender. Con levante suele haber viento de la mañana al mediodía. Se citan problemas de limpieza del entorno.
Restrictions and regulations
En verano rigen zonas de baño; no consta zonificación de kite publicada verificada. La desembocadura del río Palmones es Paraje Natural (Marismas del río Palmones), con limitaciones de acceso: no verificado el detalle.
