La costa de surf del área metropolitana de Bilbao, a 20-30 minutos en metro del centro. Concentra desde playas de aprendizaje hasta olas XXL de solo expertos (Meñakoz, Punta Galea) en apenas 15 km, por lo que la selección de spot por nivel es crítica.

    Arenal de unos 750 m entre Sopela y Getxo, con fondo mixto de arena y roca y dunas. Picos de izquierda y derecha (La Batidora, La Corriente, La Triangular) y aguanta hasta unos 3 m. El fondo de roca y las corrientes hacen que la iniciación solo sea razonable con mar pequeño y en la zona de arena.

    Playa de tradición nudista; acceso a pie por sendero desde el aparcamiento.

    Playa de arena dentro del Abra, protegida del viento del noroeste; necesita marea alta para funcionar. El spot 'Los bloques' da izquierdas potentes que ya no son de iniciación.

    Derecha de fondo de roca con una fuerza enorme; sesiones documentadas de hasta 6-7 m. Descrita como santuario del surf XXL y recomendada solo para expertos. Acceso complicado y sin vigilancia. NO ES UN SPOT DE INICIACIÓN NI DE CLASES.

    Playa nudista de acceso a pie entre acantilados, sin servicios ni socorrismo.

    Arenal de casi 400 m en la ría de Plentzia, abrigado respecto a Sopela. Descrito como atractivo para surfistas de todos los niveles. La ría interior es agua plana apta para SUP y kayak.

    Arenal con varios picos que admite todos los niveles, pero con fuerte resaca cuando hay marea grande. Sede de eventos internacionales de surf. En días de tamaño no es terreno de principiantes.
