Playa urbana de 1,5 km de arena en pleno centro de Gijón, con tradición surfera muy arraigada y numerosas escuelas en su entorno. Beach break de mareas marcadas.

What it's like
Dos realidades distintas en la misma playa. La izquierda del extremo oeste es un river mouth break en la desembocadura de la ría de Villaviciosa: ola hueca, rápida y tubera, considerada de las mejores de Europa y NO apta para principiantes (fondo somero, corriente de ría, localismo y nivel alto en el agua). El resto de la playa es un beach break de arena que, con mar pequeño, sí sirve para clases.
