Alpine ski lessons with qualified instructors

This is the sport Alpify was born with and the one we know best. A private lesson lasts one to three hours and takes place on the slopes, inside the resort. The instructor brings their time and method; the lift pass and ski rental are bought separately at the resort.

What you will learn

Your instructor adapts the content to your starting point, but this is the usual progression.

Beginner

Putting skis on and off, sliding, snowplough braking and first turns. Using the magic carpet and the chairlift safely.

Intermediate

Basic parallel turn, speed control on red runs, edging, and skiing on both hard and soft snow.

Advanced

Carving and short turns on steep terrain, skiing moguls and spring snow, and first off-piste outings with a safety mindset.

What is included and what you bring

Included in the lesson

  • A private lesson tailored to your level
  • Choice of runs based on the snow report and your progress
  • A specific meeting point at the resort
  • The instructor’s liability insurance

What you bring

  • Skis, boots and poles, your own or rented
  • A valid lift pass
  • Helmet, goggles and gloves
  • Sunscreen: at altitude the sun burns even when it snows

One- or two-hour blocks are the norm, with groups of one to four people at the same level. Each instructor publishes their format.

How much it costs

Between €48.67 and €48.67 per session

Range calculated from the lessons published right now. Each instructor sets their own price.

Best time of year

The season runs from December to April, with the best snowpack between January and March. December depends on the first snowfall and April on each resort’s altitude and aspect: Sierra Nevada holds on longer thanks to its height, and Cantabrian resorts depend heavily on storms.

Alpine skiing reviews

  • Nivelazo técnico. Me corrigió el carving en una clase.
  • Ibon es un profesor increíble, súper paciente. En dos horas ya bajaba la verde sola.
  • Muy buena clase, punto de encuentro fácil de encontrar.

Safety and qualifications

On the slopes the biggest risk is collision, and it almost always comes from skiing beyond your level. The instructor picks runs based on the snow report and your progress, teaches the FIS rules of conduct and matches the speed to the group. Off-piste the rules change: it requires safety gear — transceiver, shovel and probe — and a different qualification.

Required qualification

  • Alpine Ski Sports Technician (Spanish special-regime sports education) or an RFEDI federation qualification within the transitional period.
  • First aid training for the snow environment.
  • Liability insurance covering ski instruction at the resort.

We verify qualifications sport by sport: an instructor can be published for one sport and still under review for another. We also check that their liability insurance covers that specific activity.
