Mountain

Guided hiking with qualified technicians

It is the most accessible activity in the whole catalogue: no specific gear, no dependence on extreme conditions, and it works twelve months a year. A typical outing lasts three to six hours. What the technician adds is the right route for your level, terrain reading and the assurance that you will not end up where you should not.

What you will learn

Your instructor adapts the content to your starting point, but this is the usual progression.

Beginner

A sustainable pace, using poles, hydration and layering. Basic trail reading and understanding GR and PR waymarking.

Intermediate

Routes with more elevation and rougher terrain, navigation with map and app, and planning timings with a margin.

Advanced

Multi-day traverses, terrain with no marked path, crossing snow patches and turn-back decisions in bad weather.

What is included and what you bring

Included in the lesson

  • Route design based on your level and goal
  • Interpretation of the environment: geology, fauna and flora
  • First aid kit and emergency communication
  • The technician’s liability insurance

What you bring

  • Mountain boots with grippy soles
  • Layered clothing and a waterproof
  • At least 1.5 litres of water and food
  • Cap, sunglasses and sunscreen

There are half-day and full-day outings. Each technician publishes elevation gain, distance and maximum group size.

How much it costs

No prices published yet

The price shown here will be the real range of the offer published by verified instructors. Until there is offer, we show no figure at all.

Best time of year

Outings run all twelve months, but most activity is between March and November. In summer you start early to avoid the heat and afternoon storms; in winter many high routes require snowshoes or crampons, and that becomes a different activity with a different qualification.

Safety and qualifications

In hiking almost every scare comes from the same causes: starting late, carrying too little water or taking on a route beyond the group’s level. The technician plans timings with a margin, adapts the route to the slowest member and decides to turn back if the forecast changes. They carry a first aid kit and an emergency communication device.

Required qualification

  • Mid-Mountain Sports Technician (Spanish RD 702/2019) or a federation qualification within the transitional period.
  • First aid training for the mountain environment.
  • Liability insurance covering mid-mountain guiding.

We verify qualifications sport by sport: an instructor can be published for one sport and still under review for another. We also check that their liability insurance covers that specific activity.
